2017 Grenache (Bottle)
The Intriguing
Succulent red fruit driven on the palate with a burst of blood orange and candied peel. Roast capsicum, smokey paprika and a wild splash of dried herbs linger on the tastebuds with gentle tannins whilst a hint of tobacco, rose petals and sandalwood mingle on the nose, with delightful European rusticity.
2017 was made under the close mentorship of master wine maker Paul Petagna at Sellicks Hill Wines.
Hand picked on a cool late April morning, immediately gently crushed, leaving 10% whole bunch in ferment.
Following natural wild yeast fermentation and gentle hand basket pressing, 2017 was racked to 60% stainless steel variable capacity (VC) and 40% oak barrel formerly used for Shiraz.
